Perimenopause and menopause care
Menopause specialist care in NYC, built on your own numbers
Symptoms get scored. Bone density, metabolism and labs get tested before anything is prescribed. Then a registered dietitian, a medical fitness team and an endocrinologist work one plan for the next twelve months.
Month one
Measure first. Then plan.
What the first month looks like. Nothing gets prescribed off a formula or a hunch. Your first month builds the baseline every later decision is checked against.
A symptom score
Two validated questionnaires, plus sleep and energy, so your symptoms have a number we can track from visit to visit.
Your baseline
A DEXA scan for bone density and body composition. A metabolic rate test for what you burn at rest. Labs: blood sugar and insulin, lipids, thyroid, vitamin D and iron. A hormone panel only when it would change the plan.
Your dietitian sets the plan
Sasha reviews every result with you and writes the starting plan. From here it runs on three tracks at once.
Nutrition
Monthly dietitian visits. Food, protein and calorie targets set from your metabolic rate and adjusted as your numbers move.
Exercise
Strength and body composition work with our medical fitness team, or ONERO® when your bone density calls for it.
Endocrinology
Dr. Manessis manages symptoms, abnormal findings and treatment options, and repeats labs around month six.

Questions
Before you book
- Do I need to know I'm in menopause to come in?
- No. Most women start with a symptom: weight gain, fatigue, changing periods, a borderline lab. If you're 40 or older, book the visit and we'll work out where you are together.
- Will you test my hormones?
- Not automatically. Hormone levels swing during perimenopause and a single reading rarely changes the plan. We start with a symptom scale, your cycle history, and the labs that do change the plan. Dr. Manessis adds hormone testing when it would answer a specific question.
- Is this hormone replacement therapy?
- This is a nutrition, exercise and medical program. Hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options are part of the medical track when they fit, and that conversation happens with the endocrinologist.
- Is it covered by insurance?
- Endocrinology visits and lab work are billed through insurance the way any specialist visit is. Nutrition visits, testing and fitness sessions vary by plan. Call 718-704-5376 and we will check your plan before your visit.
